Final destination review

Rated 15. FD was my first horror movie and it is one of the best movies ever made. I'm not kidding! I have reviewed its second sequel which was better but this is the one that started it all. This movie is very underrated as well.

True, the acting is slightly second rate and the film isn't the best made film ever but I really don't care.

It's menacing, and due to the fact that I had beforehand read the whole plot synopsis on wikipeidia, I didn't have the element of suprise. It was still amazing, with all its originality, speicial effects and thrills.

This movie is in my top 30 and will no leave that place easily. 5 stars out of five

Hoodwinked! review

Rated U. hoodwinked's animation and humour aren't topshelf, but hoodwinked is well written, stunningly original and highly entertaining.

The animation is unrealistic and the movie isn't completely laugh-out-loud but it still manages a few laughs. The screenplay is absoloutly excellent even if it dosen't make you shake with laughter.

Hoodwinked is one of those unbelieveably original movies, with the heroic woodcutter, the gentle granny, the big bad wolf and the sweet red riding hood. They are turned upside down. The story is well plotted, with an unexpected twist at the end. the movie is also exciting at places and will entertain families everywhere.

Hoodwinked packs a punch! 4 stars out of 5.

Tron legacy review

Rated PG. Tron legacy may boast dazzling visuals but is it enough to make up for its many flaws? The answer is no.

Everyone thinks that special effects are everything. they so aren't! Sleepy performances, sloppy script, weak plot and slack direction. What is the point of such good effects if everything else in the film is bad? The few action scenes aren't very exciting or well directed. The film is so lazy it hurts! Waste of a billion quid.

There is no point in making another tron film. Avatar's special effects were much better. Very special effects driven movie. And in none of the scenes do you feel the 3D. Everyone was so excited but suprise suprise tron legacy wasn't the exciting and well done film we hoped for.

Also, I am tired of endless 3D. When will it stop? It dosen't make much difference and I just get a headache. Tron legacy is perhaps the most disapointing 3D movie ever. You want light cycles jumping out of the screen and light discs flying over your head? That isn't going to happen. 1.5 stars out of 5. 

Harry Potter and the philosophers stone review

Rated PG. This movie has very strong source material, and it is so faithful that it has a lot of the magic of the book but at the expense of suprise, so some will see it as a copy of the book, while others not familiar with the source material may find the plot a bit complicated for them to understand.

It is a sastisfying adaptation, with decent effects and impressive production design. The performances are good too. The film is moderatly exciting. Its good enough to start a franchise. It has been surpassed by many of its sequels though.

Still, for some children it may be upsetting. I got upset the first time I (tried) to watch this movie. I praise its ability to be scary but it may be better for young kids to watch with a parent. Despite little suprise HP1 is a fun fantasy film and HP fans will be happy. 4 stars out of 5.

John Tucker must die review

Rated 12A. A pile of formulaic rubbish, which not only explores familiar themes, but is also clueless about teen culture, sickenly cute and very rarely funny.

There are 2 bits which are funny. OK, I have to admit, I really laughed and I was on my own. But this movie tries to be cute, not apealing to anyone except kids. This movie is so cute (In a sickening way) that it is actually oddly creepy. Also, you feel sorry for John Tucker.

The film is something very unlikley. Things like what happen in the film just don't happen in real life. All those other movies about choices and first love do happen. So this is clueless about what really happens. Maybe it need a Sherlock Holmes to look for clues. Then it can clean up its act and be something more realistic.

I am beggining to realise that I don't like teen movies. The only good teen movies I have seen are Final destination, Final destination 2, and Final destination 3. This was even worse then Whip it. At least whip it tried.This is a TERRIBLE movie! 1 star out of 5.
