Epic movie review

Rated 15. Epic movie is another VERY silly parody movie from Friedberg and Seltzer. Still, out of all the Friedberg and Seltzer films, this is one that parodies the best films. The movie is quite fun but I probably only say that because I'm a kid. The truth is, the movie is shamelessly crude and filled with predictable and silly humour that never rase more then a few chuckles.

Perhaps it's fun because it stays suprisingly faithful to the film: The lion, the witch and the wardrobe, which is what it mainly parodies despite Jack Sparrow being at the front of many of the posters.  4 orphans come from different backrounds (each of which parodies a different movie), then a chain of events leads to them going into a chocolate factory where they find a wardrobe and go to Gnarnia, where they must save it from the evil white *****!

The acting isn't that great but it's OK. There are some funny bits: The bit when the character from The Da Vinci Code runs down the slope screeching wildly, a part at the end of the big battle involving the white *****, the bit which parodies snakes on a plane and a part in the chocalate factory as well as a catchy pirate rap. Trouble is, some of these funy bits have been seen or hinted in the trailer. The rest of the movie never seems to raise more than a few chuckles.

With the humour you often know what's coming. And if this movie looks like a fun comedy which is great for kids, it isn't. Trust me. The movie is very rude, with sex references, swear words, comic violence and even brief nudity. Its 15 rating is definetely apropiate. This movie needs to realise there's more to a comedy than rude jokes.

As well as that, this movie could be very offensive to those who like Narnia. I mean think about. The last time I looked, Aslan was a noble lion, not a rather dirty old man! Also, Jack Sparrow works, the white *****, Peter uses the remote control from click to defeat the white *****'s army, the kids go to Hogwarts.... well, you get the picture. Narnia with the rude bits.

I think what makes this movie fun is all the pop culture references within. It knows it's going to be bad and just goes ahead with lame pop culture gags and silly, absurd humour. only the fun of this technicly terrible movie elevates it into the 1.5 star rating. 1. 5 stars out of 5.
